Essay - "MySelf as the leader"

Leadership, one of the most important qualities to uphold, which not every individual can obtain. It takes time in some situations to go through experiences that a person may begin to get the characteristics and apply it to their personality. Yet, in some other cases, people naturally are this way, as a saying goes, “He/She was born a leader”. I may with confidence say that being a leader truly does take you far in life and along with that comes benefits. Only by taking courageous decision and doing the unexpected towards the right path will keep carrying you along to success. Being a leader means you must stand out apart from the rest of the crowd, usually that is not too easy. An individual must have and feel that power to dominate and not let other push down on you. Always coming first and wanting to do things your way, you learn to take control. It is made up of actions such as standing up and speaking for yourself when you disagree. Making sure all goes on the right path for yourself along for others along too. You should know what is best for yourself and people with you and putting work into to.

 From all the characteristics above, I consider myself and portray myself as a leader. I have since I was quite young and I have grown to become an even stronger leader now. From quite simple things such as being the captain in sport teams, to group leader in school assignments. Even though these positions and tasks may not seem so important, it is how it all begins. And only a leader would know it begins from baby steps to be onto, like I have stated above, you cannot just become a leader from nowhere. Starting off young is the best option for anyone I would say. It is in a young age where a person is curious and explores and nothing intimidates or stops them. Your mind is at it broadest and you are able to soak up all that is taught. From being a child and you automatically start volunteering to be in charge, it becomes a normal action that you adapt to and continue to do so while growing up.

 Which is why my father always emphasized me to be number one in class and outside of class as well. To always make my mark in this life, and this would only be possible if I did not hide, only if I made sure everyone always respected me and take charge. In my sport teams such as football I would raise my hand to make sure I was chosen as the team captain. This way I would practice my skills of leadership knowing what was best for me and my team, having to think quickly on the spot. In school as well, for tasks we would split up into groups and I would nominate myself to be in charge, making sure all goes well, everyone does their part, and we come out as the best. This would give me the best feeling as if I could accomplish anything I want. Through out life this as well gives you the opportunity to grow confidence. That you may achieve so much if you truly want to, people will look up to you, you become a role model, many other factors that make you grow as a stronger person.

I believe that if a person continues and strives to be a positive and helpful leader, life takes that person on a tremendous ride that brings many bright paths. You will continue to grow and keep going up the ladder. You will never settle with what is given, but rather strive and be determined to keep being the best and improving in every aspect of life. Even when failing you will learn to get back on your feet and keep trying with even more efforts this time. Which is why I have practiced this trait and strongly emphasized it into my personality. It is what got me to come study abroad to Malaysia. I wanted to reach out, “the sky is the limit”. I knew it would become a perfect opportunity to keep expanding myself. Taking charge or my life and choices. Many I know would not dare leave home and their families, but rather staying near by. It was a very challenging choice but I went for it, strong and firm. I reached making sure I did the best I could keeping my personality and making sure it only brought me good things.

 Every one is capable of being a leader in this world, but whether they want it or not is completely different. Some are too scared and intimidated being afraid others will step on them. This is what is sad, they cannot reach out and stay sunken there. It takes a great deal of effort to become a leader, having to make the right choices not just for yourself but others as well and that is a pressure that not many may be able to handle. I focus on being an inspirational leader, compared to others which may be corrupted. Taking pride in themselves and advantage of others. I find these type of leaders to be fake and harmful for society. This is not what a true leader should do, it should be a positive energy that united people for better.

1. Language: Not every student speak the same language, so to overcome this problem they are advised to learn an international common language such as English

2. Classmate: Classmates are a key role in the education path as they will be involved in different activities and projects and not every classmate is the right person who can motivate and provide help. It is important to first get to know who that person is and understand them 

3. Education: Education is an important part and aspect of every human and it can change the life and future of an individual. And education is not available to everyone due to many reasons. To solve this problem every country and institution has tried to provide education to everyone in different levels 

4. Challenge: In order for a student or a human being to achieve success , they are faced with different challenges in their way. There is always solution to every challenge but it depends on the person who is willing to find a way to solve this 

5. Deadline: Every project or work has a deadline which requires the project to be done before that. And a student faces deadlines almost every semester and they become a problem when not paid attention which will bring penalties. To solve this , always a good planing can make sure that everything is done before the deadlines

6. Expectations: Students are always expected to try their best and meet the deadlines but not every student can meet the exceptions. There is many way to overcome this for example making sure that there is always a motivation and vision.

7. Smart: Students during their studies are introduced with many challenges and tests but every student is different one is smart and the other one could be weak. This can be prevented by trying harder and planning.

8. Communication: One of the most important keys in being successful and students should be able to communicate but there is always lack of communication between students and even lectures which can slow down the every process and cause misunderstanding. To overcome this problem every students goes through communication skills classes and courses to be able to communicate and understand clearly

9. Nationality: Every student comes from a different country , specially in international universities. This means different nationalities. This can cause some problems in some cases between students from different nationalities it could be politics issues or just history.

10. Culture: International students are come from different backgrounds and tradition. So their culture is different from other students. This can sometimes cause misunderstanding and issues which can be solved by introducing students wit different cultures such as a cultural festival 

11. Time management: Time, one of the most important element for a student can not being able to manage it correctly can cause big problems in long term. Managing time and communication can help to keep track of the time and be organized

12. Hostel: Education is great for a student but at the same time a student requires a place to stay and rest. Finding such a place that is suitable from all perspective can be hard and that is the reason why universities try to provide hostels for students. 

13. Financial Problem: Education is not always free and some times can be costly but it’s not just the university fees , it includes hostel , food and beverage and many more. Budget planning can help with this problem and also students can overcome such problems by finding part time jobs 

14. Assignment: Studying and Exams are just not enough for a student to gain the required knowledge and experience but they are required to do some researches and practical work to understand and gain better experience.

15. Activities: In addition to studying in classrooms , students are advised to get involved in different type of activities such as sport , dance and many more. These activities are provided and supported by university.

16. Transportation: Choosing the right university is important but being able to travel to the university is also something that should be considered. These problem can be overcome by staying at the nearby hostels provided by the university.

17. Visa: In most cases for an international student to study aboard, they require to gain a visa or permission to enter the country and this can be an issue for some specific countries due to many reasons such as politics. Universities can provide consultation and help students to gain the required visa.

18. Grade: Any work that the student does should be evaluated and graded. These grades can change the future of a student and determine if they can continue studying. Hard work , being motivated and planning can make sure a student can achieve good grades

19. Group Work: For a student to be able to work in an industry after graduation where employees are required to work together and communicate. They require communication skills and having experience in working together. The student can gain these experience by completing group work during their studies

20. Health: Students are usually focused on their studies and forget about their health as they are busy with coursework and classes. This can be dangerous and to solve this student are advise to do medical checkup often. Further more universities provide insurance for the students in the case of student having a medical issue. 

21. Books: Books are used to gain further knowledge and are required  to have by some courses. They could be hard to find and expensive. This problem can be solved by student using the library or facilities provided by the university

22. Sleep: Resting can help the students to focus and be more productive in their works.But poor planning can lead to lack of sleep which can reduce the effectiveness of the student. Students are advised to be organized and have good planning to be able to rest.

23. Housemate: Students who stay in hostels and share a house with someone have to take extra care when choosing a housemate as it can cause problems and issues in future such as illegal activities and many more which a student can face.

24. Lecturers: One of the most important sources in gaining the right knowledge are the lectures. For a student to know more about the course and the field of their studies , they can learn from the lecturer’s experiences and knowledge

25. Equipment: In order for the student to be more efficient and productive in what they do, they are required to have the right equipment such as computer and many more in order to be able to perform some specific tasks and complete their projects. Some of these equipment can be expensive and are usually provided by the university.

26. Food: Students are always working and focusing on the projects and classes they have and sometimes this will prevent them to focus on their basic needs such as food. This will reduce the effectiveness of the student and will have long term affects on their health 

27. Exam: Students are evaluated in many different way and one of the most common way is exam. Student are required to complete and attend these exams. But exam can cause stress fro the student which will reduce the ability of them during the exam and this can result in bad grades. In order to overcome this, in some cases students are provided with assignments and group projects instead of exam.

28. Attendance: It is important that a student should attend the classes and all the exams in order to pass the module. But not every student can or won’t attend the classes due to many reasons. By the law , this is not acceptable unless the reason behind the lack of attendance is reasonable such as health issues. To solve this problem, students must provide official documents to prove the reason is acceptable, such as a letter from doctor or health care center.

29. Internet: Students are required to do studies and researched out of the classrooms as well and this can be done by using the internet to collect more information and read more about their field of studies. Nowadays internet is available almost to everyone but there could be problems and issues that can prevent a student to access the internet. A student can use the public access points such as public internet provided by the university.

30. Family: Students who would like to study overseas have to travel to other countries and be away from their family. This can be hard for the student from the emotional perspective and can cause small issues. Students can re-connects to their family using internet and video call services or travel and visit their families during their break. 

31. Safety: Safety of student is important specially since they enter a new environment when they start their university . New problems and issues could occur that can risk the student safety. That’s why the student are advised to know what they are doing and who they are dealing with.

32. Research: In order for a student to be able to complete their task and projects , It is required to do a research based on the topic of their work. This can be done in many ways but it is important to research in a right way and from a right source. Students can sometimes lack such a skill to research properly and this can be improved through different related classes regarding this skill.

33. Library: Students are advised to not just attend the classes and read the notes provided by the lecturer but in addition to that , they should do more studies outside the classroom either by researching or reading books related to their field. Books sometimes are hard to find or they are expensive. All the universities have library which can provide students with free access to thousands of books.

34. Friends: Friends play an important role in a student life. They could be a good motivation and help for the student or other way around they could prevent the student to focus on his/her studies. To solve this , students are advised to take extra care when choosing a friend

35. Illegal activities: Students are likely to get involved in illegal activities, specially those students who are far away from their families. This could be prevented being more careful and being around the right people at the right place. 

36. Racism: Racism happens between international students since they are from different counties and races. To prevent this , universities try to bring the students together and unite them. 

37. Admission: In order for an student to study in a university, first they have to be admitted by the university. This process could take a time as the university will be evaluating the student’s past education background and some universities required a student to complete a test before admission.

38. Major: Most of the students have a vision of who they want to be in the future and what field of study and industry they want to be involved in. This can be a hard choice for the students when they want to apply for a course in a specific university. This issue is easily solved by doing more research and gathering information. 

39. Adaptability: Some times students have to travel to a different city or even a country in order to continue their studies. As the result they have to live in a different environment and adapt to it. This process is always hard and stressful. But students can overcome this as the time passes by.

40. Certificate: Students are awarded with a certificated for a very work that they do and some of these works are rewarded by a certificate in order to state that the student has completed this course or have participated in an event.

41. Scholarship: Not all the students who are passionate about their studies and would like to continue their studies , can get admitted in a university. This could be usually due to high cost of that specific university or course. In order to enable students who are passionate and hard working in what they do to continue their studies, university and some institution can award them with a scholarship.

42. Facilities: Students do not just need classrooms but they need different type of facilities where they can use these facilities to meet their needs. Universities provide on campus facilities available to students such as library,health care center, food court and many more.  

43. Attention: Attention is one of the keys to understand and learn. Students who get distracted during lectures or group work will be less productive comparing to those who were paying attention. To help the students to pay attention to class, lectures try to have a more interactive lecturer and class.

44. Motivation: In order for a student to complete a work or achieve success, the student should have a motivation and a vision which could help the student to be more effective and productive.

45. Support: Students are always in need of support but that does not mean physical or financial support only but they could be in need of mental and emotional help and support , specially those student who are away from their families. To overcome this issue , students are advised to be more involved in activities and get know to people. 

46. Tasks: Students have things to do and complete , it could be a assignment or just a simple research. In order for them to complete their task they have to focus and be organized

47. Planning: Planning can save time , money and energy which every student need.in some cases students are assigned to complete many tasks and projects at the same time but if they have a proper planning , they can easily manage their time and complete their work.

48. Orientation: At the beginning when the students join a university, it can be hard for them since they are not familiar with anyone or anywhere in the university. To solve this problem. Orientations are planning and performed, in an orientation a student get to know more about the university and its facilities. More on students are introduced to other new students who are participating in the orientation.

49. Social: Students who are under pressure and only focus on their studies , seems to not be social as they do not have the time and energy to do so. This can be a problem in a long term as socializing is important. Students are advised to participate in different events and activities.

50. Consultant: Students who face a problem or an issue , they can get help and support from their parents and friend but in some cases for international students , it is not possible to get the required help from their parents. The university provide students with on campus consultant who are there to help and provided the required help for the students.

Juxtaposition

Every way that you choose or any decision that you make to reach your goal need to be measured carefully. As you see here the captain checks everything from far distance because need to consider that anytime May something face you suddenly in the way, and in that condition should be ready for right action. In addition destination need to be calculated to prepare yourself before it.

This Picture  shows that what is matter and important in choosing the way of success. According to this picture we see some sign that shows question word which mean we need to find a practical and logical reason for each of this word that related to our goal that should be every leadership consider them as a gold point for his management task.

This scene shows how pretty they flaying from place to place with and specific organization. Actually they following a path that the duke at the forward is going to. It doesn’t mean without the front bride they can’t fly, but the point is they choosing to follow that takes them to right way that is safer and reach them to their destination, because without right leader they may lose their way and if something happen during the travel for each of them is really hard to get support from others.
